This data set was submitted to GPM anonymously on February 2nd, 2005. The data can be found here.

Experimental Details

No experimental details were supplied by the submitter. The parent and fragment ion mass accuracies suggest that an ion trap instrument was used for the analysis.

Comments

The proteins discovered show a strong bias towards nuclear and mitochondrial proteins. Other proteins commonly found in membrane-bound organelles are also enriched, but to a lesser extent. The distribution suggests that this experiment was an attempt to analyze a nuclear fraction, probably obtained from a centrifugation fraction. A large fraction of cytoplasmic proteins are also present in this model. Evidence of ER and Golgi specific markers suggests that this fraction contained a significant amount of microsomal membranes.

The data is of high quality.
