This data set was submitted to GPM anonymously on March 29th, 2007. The data can be found here.

Experimental Details

No experimental details were supplied by the submitter. The parent and fragment ion mass accuracies demonstrated by the analysis suggests that a QSTAR-type instrument was used to perform the mass spectrometry for protein analysis. The relatively high accuracy fragment ion data was not used very efficiently, as the default value of 0.4 Da was used for the analysis.

Comments

The results show that the original protein sample was derived from an extracellular source, almost certainly human urine. High concentrations of perlecan, megalin and cubilin strongly suggest a urinary tract origin. The presence of prostate fluid markers, such as PSA, suggest it was from a male donor.

The data is very high quality and it can be used as a reference for the proteins that are normally found in human urine.
