The protein information toolbar is a list of links to both external and internal resources regarding a protein accession number. It appears at the top of protein.pl. An example screenshot of the toolbar for a human protein accession number (including some surrounding elements for context):

The contents of the protein toolbar are controlled by the protein accession number currently being used, so not all accession numbers will generate all elements. E.g., the protein toolbar for yeast-related accession numbers will not contain elements used exclusively with human data (e.g., omim), but will contain yeast-specific links (e.g., sgd).

The links to internal resources are located at the end of the list, in the bottom row at the right.

  • mrm: a link to the peak_search.pl page for this accession number. This link will only appear if records for the protein are stored in peakdb.
  • gpmDB: a link to dblist_gpmnum.pl on http://gpmdb.thegpm.org for this accession number. This link will always appear.
  • wiki: a link to a wiki page for this protein accession number. This link will always appear.
  • pSYT: a link to dblist_pep_modmass.pl, to search for identifications of this protein with specific modifications. This link will only appear if modifications to peptides assigned to this protein have been stored in the GPMDB.
  • SNAP: a link to dblist_protein_mut.pl, to search for identifications of this protein with known mutations. This link will only appear if mutations on peptides assigned to this protein have been stored in the GPMDB.
